EFL

EFL is the abbreviation for English as a Foreign Language. The practice of teaching EFL is known as TEFL - Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

It generally refers to the sort of language learning appropriate for people who need to use English as a second language without necessarily living in an English-speaking country.
